This piece was completed awhile ago, it just needed to sit until I decided it was finished.  A few tweaks were added early today before giving the painting my approval.  Another experimental piece using a print making roller, palette knives then brushes making their entry at the end.  I love how the abstracted forms were pulled together by some detail.  The only reference used was the little farm building at the top.  

The painting will be for sale in my show coming up Sept. 13th at the Rumriver 21 Step Gallery,  Anoka MN.  More on that later!

Summer Buffet

Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, 12x16 inchesThis piece was painted awhile back for a show with a food theme.  I thought showing fair food was a clever idea, plus I painted fun fair images on two sides of the canvas such as pronto pups and cheese curds.  It didn't go over real big for the show, most of the paintings were classical food images.  Recently I pulled the painting out to rework a few areas adding admission tickets to the third side of the canvas.  I'm not sure if I posted this piece before but it works better now and will be for sale in a new show coming up in September at the Rumriver Art Center's Johansen Gallery, Anoka MN.

Summer Fare

This painting has been excepted in the Bon Appetit exhibition at Studio Pintura Gallery in Minneapolis, MN.  Opening reception is November 17, 2018 at 5:30 pm if you are in town and interested, then the show runs through January 5th.  The theme of the show is food, anything that includes food.  I had this reference photo from the Minnesota State Fair this year and loved the light.  Since the fair is all about food it worked perfect for this exhibition, plus I painted the sides with more fair inspired imagery and food.
